Tidings of Comfort and Joy

More in my life is going good than not and that is honesty, like when I told a friend that I could have attended services at their house of worship if I had truly wanted to. Of course, I am not the only person causing me to be more honest with myself and others, sometimes I am being held to that. Inclined towards pessimism, and Being Scott Malkinson, my feelings can sometimes be misleading about present circumstances in life. Routinely eight percent of any day is spent watching YouTube, today I was encountering many psychology-related topics, especially the Crappy Childhood Fairy.

Whirlwind Weekend 072

More than ten years ago, when I started this blog, I happily wrote something every five days, then every day, then infrequently, and then not for a year or more. I have only first had a full-time job seven years ago, which has affected how often something new can be found here.

For those who might not know, I have been working at a new place for a different company in an entirely different industry since last January. My LinkedIn profile is dreadfully outdated, and I will not identify my employer on any social media since this headline, lest I be associated with the event, “Arby’s apologizes after employee refuses to serve police officer.”

The new company for whom I work has Good Friday as a paid holiday. Saturday, before I went to the home of Laser Rangers to watch Everything Everywhere All at Once and Top Gun: Maverick, from the Crunchyroll store, arrived Figma Yunyun, a character of whom I am featuring fan-made art! Much time has passed since I put any image of any action figures online.

The host of Laser Rangers also extended an invitation to dinner on Easter Sunday, and I am eternally grateful for the friendship and good times shared with his family. I am also remembering other posts with this title; it’s Rock ‘n Roll to Me.

Reflections of the History Guy

Yesterday, Sunday, I only went outside twice for the sake of the puppy and nowhere else and accomplished little else. The previous day, I saw ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ and having had too many carbohydrates, Being Scott Malkinson made me sluggish all day along with the food choices I described above. Often I have a general feeling of malaise when I think about my present circumstances and what I am trying to do, yet I was reminded by my supervisor that I am here now, and that encourages.

Hoppy (Happy?) New Year!

“Before I can talk to you about everything that’s happened in the past few days,” I have to apologize for the long delay since I have written any post.

Until late last year, I was a federal contractor pushing government paperwork for more than six years. After attending a hiring event, and my first bout of covid, I now work in manufacturing, where I have also returned this week after my second bout of covid.

Can’t Keep a Good Man Down

Friday after work, I learned only the front right power window works in my car functions, so I let that bring me down a little (again, something the other three switches are not doing for the other three windows). “Signs a Man Has Low Value,” well, reminded me of more than one truth. I lived this day on my terms, watching YouTube and finding the delightful TRDQ – Gavin Spence (Transformers Reviews Done Quick) among which I was seeing advertisements because I was watching through the smart tv in the common area instead of Brave browser. I enjoyed an afternoon nap, and later watching the arguably best episode from ’Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ similar to the weekend of the Fourth when I was also feeling down and felt better after ODDTAXI and So I’m a Spider, So What?
