Keeping up the Habit 055

For three days last week, I went to bed at four o’clock in the morning,
which was okay for the first day; however, combined with whatever medicine my mind becomes clouded and foggy and my work suffers. so I took nothing on Sunday.

“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)”

Ich werde das Party verpassen 059

Two months ago, as soon as they became available for the premiere,
Bennigan went and bought tickets for Star Wars: The Last Jedi,
which is Thursday, the same night as our team dinner?

Gamble Rumble

Honestly, I was worried about changing policies at work about sick leave, so I can no longer sleep this morning ahead of overtime today; I bought an “Initial D Ugly Sweater,” for “next Friday… Ugly Sweater Day,” since my colleagues tell me my sweaters flatter me.

Mentioning this allows me to segue into “Gamble Rumble,” my favorite song at the moment — from ‘Initial D: Best Song Collection 1998-2004,’ this Eurobeat is somewhere between “‘Perfect Strangers’ Original Theme” and “‘Doc Hollywood’ Theme Song” and first heard in ‘Initial D: Third Stage,’ and is the first track on my current mix CD.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before he endured the cross, despising the shame, (Hebrews 12:1-2) and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Whirlwind weekend 041

Tuesday, I asked, “Mußte ich am Samstag arbeiten?”

The short answer was yes, yet only eight of sixteen possible overtime hours were required, so I have an option to work next Saturday and had an option to not work today if I had chosen. Being functional, taking a break, having a snack, and looking at daylight at noon on a Saturday made me nostalgic for those PreACT sessions in high school.

Sunday, I feel nearly as bad as I did on Thursday when I had to go home early. Saturday night, my friend, whom I mention in “Celebratory note 003,” had a celebration for his fiftieth birthday at The Original Margarita’s Restaurant:

“So, last night I did get out and celebrate my birthday, and had a blast. Big thanks go out to everyone who was there – Jennie, Cyndi, Jennifer, Ben, Chris, and Kris. Good friends and great food. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there’s nothing better in this world than hanging out with people who make you smile. I love you guys! Extra thanks, actually, go to Cyndi, for putting up with me all afternoon, too.”

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)”

Illness caused me to go home early on Thursday night. My coughing and sneezing could likely be why The Girl Next Door decided to Just Ghost on Friday night.

After working both Friday and Saturday, I did not want to expose Bennigan or my intermittent coughing to ruin how anyone would experience ‘Justice League,’ so I canceled our plans Sunday. While I also canceled with Josh, I have caught up my rest.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)”

Mußte ich am Samstag arbeiten?

A meeting raised the specter of required overtime,
and I had plans Saturday.

To use a facsimile machine stresses me, I had to provide documentation,
and need to reapply for my income-based repayment plan which is renewed annually.
Perhaps, I can be pitied for having no desire to do these things until I must.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:43-45)”

“What about you,” she said to me condescendingly, “you’re supposed to be a computer person (a person knowledgeable about computers).”
“I have two associate degrees in Information Technology,” I replied, “but that doesn’t mean I know anything,” or know how to explain or have the patience, which a former colleague noted fifteen years ago.

Seriously, the page for printable account information does not print properly; amounts on the right side do not print. The person who needed documentation suggested I capture the image from the screen and attach in an email. On my chart, Mercury is in Virgo.

Today is the last day to renew my income-driven paymant plan with my lender and that is proving to be frustrating and stressful, “No one knew about this abandoned mansion until now,” so I am oddly consoled to think that someday everything will pass into dust.

“Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. (Psalms 86:4-5)”
