There’s been a national or international story to discuss, and they can wait until tomorrow. I have many things to say about my grandmother’s birthday celebration, and I’ll catch that up tomorrow.
To visit my grandparents, my car only used a half tank of gasoline to get there and a half a tank back. This weekend has also proven that I can visit relatives and return in time for work on Monday.
I’ve been back in town for a couple of hours, and I met a friend for dinner.
Those times my grandmother and I spoke alone were valuable and enriching. I also spoke with relatives with whom I haven’t since my sister Kimberly passed.
“And now, O Lord GOD, you are God,
and your words are true, (2 Samuel 7:28)
and you have promised this good thing to your servant.”

The status update, a few days later,
from my step-grandfather summarized Saturday better than I could:
June had her 90th Birthday Saturday and all her family came: 3 sons and her daughter and two grandsons and one with his lady friend with her boy and girl. They each came from different states. June said that although it was the greatest birthday party she ever had but now at 90 yrs young she said she could not stand the stress of another one at home. She said the Buffet Resturant is a whole lot less stressful.
With everyone at the house, Uncle Ricky and Aunt Velma began to grill steak, grass-fed Angus. Velma had also cut up watermelon and strawberries and made coleslaw and potato salad. My father took over the grilling of the steak, and others who preferred their steak more rare took turns. Velma then grilled some burgers which were set aside later for supper.
My cousin Mandy who works at Whole Foods and made one of the two cakes which were brought: The first was made of two sheets of whole grain cake mix topped with a thin layer of chocolate Swiss buttercream icing and separated by chocolate ganache; The second, circular chocolate cake was even more decadent, I’m told.

‘plans for welfare and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.’”

Less than 24 hours until I trip the road fantastic to celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday party. I’ve got to update software on my Garmin and download some music to an SD card.

that God sent his only Son into the world
so that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9)”

The title of this post could apply to recently occurring events or just my plan for the weekend – – it’s just my plans for the weekend.

“Who disturbs my slumber?!”
This morning, my sister, although she has all day, has chosen to clean the habitats for her turtle and finches, and play her music at a blaring volume, which means I have to lose an hour of sleep because I certainly will not be able to sleep now! The worse my day starts likely means a better end to my day to work, so there is a consolation.

For the second Saturday in a row, I forgot about Original Country Gold on 94.1 KFKF; today I’ve been watching NCIS on Netflix with my father and sister.
